Τόσο για την επιβίωσή του όπως τον γνωρίζουμε, όσο και για τα καθιερωμένα βραβεία που τον τιμούν κάθε χρόνο. Η Αμερικανική Ακαδημία Κινηματογράφου προσάρμοσε τα κριτήρια εισαγωγής των ταινιών στα Όσκαρ επιτρέποντας για πρώτη φορά τη συμμετοχή φιλμ που δεν κατάφεραν ποτέ να κυκλοφορήσουν στη μεγάλη οθόνη, και κατασκεύασε έναν ολόδικό της streamer για να τα φέρει πιο κοντά στα μέλη-ψηφοφόρους της. Το φετινό award season, παρότι και αυτό προβλέψιμο σε έναν αναμενόμενο βαθμό, είχε περιθώριο για εκπλήξεις και φαίνεται πως θα έχει μέχρι τη μεγάλη βραδιά των Όσκαρ στις 26 Απριλίου.
